What is soy wax and why do you use it?

Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource made from soybeans. Unlike paraffin wax, which is petroleum-based, soy wax is biodegradable and burns significantly cleaner, producing minimal soot. Soy wax also has excellent scent throw properties, meaning it disperses fragrance beautifully throughout your space. Additionally, soy candles burn at a lower temperature, which means they last considerably longer than paraffin candles of the same size. We choose soy wax because it aligns with our commitment to creating products that are better for you and better for the environment.

Are your candles eco-friendly?

Absolutely! We're committed to sustainability at every stage of production. Our soy wax is a renewable resource, and we use cotton wicks that are lead-free and zinc-free. Our packaging materials are recyclable, and we continuously work to minimize waste in our production process. We also source our fragrance oils from suppliers who share our values regarding environmental responsibility and ethical practices.

How do I place an order?

When you're ready to check out, click on your cart icon, review your items, and proceed to checkout where you'll enter your shipping and payment information. You'll receive an order confirmation email once your purchase is complete.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept payment through PayPal and other secure digital payment platforms. All transactions are processed through secure, encrypted connections to protect your financial information.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Processing time for orders is typically 2-3 business days, as each candle is carefully inspected and packaged by hand. Once shipped, delivery times vary depending on your location. Standard shipping within the UK typically takes 3-5 business days. We also offer expedited shipping options at checkout if you need your candles sooner. You'll receive a tracking number via email once your order ships so you can monitor its progress.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently, we ship throughout the United Kingdom. We're working on expanding our shipping capabilities to include international destinations. If you're located outside the UK and interested in our products, please contact us directly, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request or notify you when international shipping becomes available.

What is your return policy?

Your satisfaction is our priority. If you're not completely happy with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order. We'll work with you to resolve any issues. For unused candles in their original condition and packaging, we offer full refunds or exchanges. Due to the nature of our products, we cannot accept returns on candles that have been burned, but if you experience any quality issues, please reach out to us immediately so we can make it right.

My candle arrived damaged. What should I do?

We take great care in packaging our candles securely, but occasionally damage can occur during shipping. If your candle arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and your order number. We'll arrange for a replacement to be sent to you immediately at no additional cost.

Candle Care & Safety

How do I get the best performance from my candle?

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, always trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn. This prevents excessive smoking and ensures an even burn. On the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely across the entire surface of the candle—this typically takes 2-4 hours depending on the candle size. This prevents "tunneling" and ensures your candle burns evenly throughout its life. Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time, and always allow it to cool completely before relighting.

Why is the first burn so important?

The first burn sets the "memory" of your candle. Soy wax has a memory, meaning it will continue to burn to the width established during the first use. If you extinguish the candle before the wax has melted to the edges, subsequent burns will tunnel down the center, wasting wax around the perimeter and significantly reducing your candle's burn time. Taking the time to achieve a full melt pool on the first burn ensures you'll enjoy every bit of your candle.

How long should I burn my candle?

We recommend burning your candle for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours at a time. This allows sufficient time for the wax to melt evenly across the surface while preventing the vessel from becoming too hot. After 4 hours, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool completely, trim the wick, and then you can relight it if desired.

How do I properly extinguish my candle?

The safest way to extinguish your candle is to use a candle snuffer or to gently dip the wick into the melted wax using a wick dipper, then straighten it back up. This prevents smoke and eliminates the risk of hot wax splatter. Avoid blowing out candles, as this can cause smoking and may send hot wax droplets into the air.

Why do I need to trim the wick?

Trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn is essential for several reasons. A properly trimmed wick ensures a clean, steady flame that burns at the correct temperature. An untrimmed wick can create a flame that's too large, causing the candle to burn too hot, produce soot, and consume wax too quickly. It can also cause the wick to "mushroom" at the tip, which leads to smoking and carbon buildup. Regular wick trimming is the single most important thing you can do to maintain your candle's performance.

Is it normal for my candle to have a wet or oily appearance on top?

Yes, this is completely normal and is called "sweating." Because soy wax is natural, it can release some of its natural oils, especially in warmer temperatures or when exposed to temperature fluctuations. This doesn't affect the quality or performance of your candle. Simply wipe the surface with a paper towel before burning if desired. To minimize sweating, store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

What are the white spots or frosting on my candle?

Frosting is a natural characteristic of pure soy wax and appears as white crystalline patterns on the surface or sides of the candle. This is actually a sign that you have a 100% natural soy candle without additives. Frosting doesn't affect the candle's burn quality or scent throw—it's simply a cosmetic variation. We embrace frosting as evidence of our commitment to using pure, natural ingredients.

Can I burn multiple candles in the same room?

Yes, you can burn multiple candles in the same room, but we recommend spacing them appropriately and ensuring adequate ventilation. Keep candles at least 3 inches apart from each other to prevent them from affecting each other's burn quality. Be mindful not to overwhelm the space with too many competing fragrances.

Where should I burn my candle?

Always burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans, and air currents. Keep them away from flammable materials such as curtains, books, and paper. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

When should I stop burning my candle?

Discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container. Burning beyond this point can cause the container to overheat and potentially crack or break. At this point, you can clean out the remaining wax and repurpose the beautiful vessel!

How long do your candles burn?

Burn time varies depending on the size of the candle and proper care. Our standard 130g candles typically provide 25-30 hours of burntime, while our larger candles candles offer 45-50 hours. These estimates assume proper candle care, including trimming the wick before each use and allowing adequate burn time to achieve a full melt pool.

Can I request custom scents or personalized candles?

We love creating custom pieces! For bulk orders, special events, or corporate gifts, we can work with you to develop custom scents or create personalized labels.
